SURPRISED BY LOVE by Julie Lessman

Megan McClure was not exactly the slim and trim beauty queen in school but when she travels to Paris spending her senior year to study she becomes the young woman most would definitely envy. Her sights are set on Dean Caldwell who believed in teasing Megan for being plump and wearing eyeglasses since first grade was cruel as school children tend to be insensitive at such a young age.

Megan’s childhood friend Bram Hughes advises when asked that Megan find forgiveness in heart for Dean’s cruelty as children while he has never revealing his own true feelings of love he has for Megan. Decisions and more decisions is what Megan has to deal with regarding Dean and Bram, as she also has not spoken of her attraction to Bram.

Surprised by Love is an entertaining novel with a love story of unspoken love and Christian faith but I found the premise of ‘teasing’ a bit redundant and holding such a grudge for many years. Regardless of the repetitive childhood taunting, the novel is still enjoyable and recommended for historical fiction, historical romance, and drama booklovers alike.

I received this book free from Revell Publishing in exchange for an honest opinion in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission Guidelines.
