The Chase by Janet Evanovich and Lee Goldberg, Random House Publishing

FBI Agent Kate O’Hare and the FBI’s most wanted, Nicholas (Nick) Fox, are acquaintances in an uncommon way. The FBI lets him escape from prison to work for them. He agreed to find The Rooster stolen from the Smithsonian because the Chinese Government will be arriving to bring it home.

Since no one must know that Kate and Nick are working together, the story is, she is tracking him down for escaping from prison.

Nick finds the culprit, Carter Grove, ex-chief of staff for the White House. Grove now owns the most elite private security agency, Black Rhino. They work for the Pentagon fighting wars overseas, undercover. Nick has to create an elaborate plan and hire a skilled team to keep Grove off his trail, once he steals The Rooster back.

After discovering the person who stole his statute is Nick Fox, the ruthless Carter Grove makes plans of his own.  Everyone knows that Grove’s plans never fail.

Janet Evanovich and Lee Goldberg’s novel is exciting and entertaining. Their crime suspense story is full of action and adventure. The characters are fun and there is plenty of humor. I recommend this novel for those who love crime fiction. This one is definitely a home run.

I received this book free from Random House Publishing Group, Bantam-Dell for this review.
